In the city of Kolomyya, Ivano-Frankivsk oblast, from April, 30 to May, 1 was the regional festival "Pysanka - 2011." The main purpose of the festival is to preserve and increase the national traditions of folk in eggs paintings - Pysanka. Participants in the festival parade marched from City Hall to the Museum of Pysanka, which inaugurated the festival with the participation of regional and district authorities, visitors from neighboring areas.
During the two days of competitions were held in Kolomyya were eggs painting, performances of national folk art groups, round tables, master classes.
The festival was attended by foreign guests. Professional master of ceramics from Japan, Natsumi Iino, practice pysanka art for 14 years. In hers works, she uses traditional Ukrainian ornaments and colors. During the Festival, "Pysanka -2011" Japanese guest visited the Museum of Pysanka and present album and cards with their works. In addition, she promised to send to the collection of the Museum of Pysanka - 6 eggs, painted with traditional wax technique.
